What Causes Raising Of Heartbeat,dizziness And Pupil Dilation?
My 15 year old son experiences racing heartbeat,dizziness, and pupil dilation, with bloodshot eyes. This happens about three times daily and does not seem to be triggered by physical activity. It lasts for about 10-15 minutes and then goes away but it is frightening. He is currently taking 20mg celexa and .2 mg clonidine at bedtime. His father recently died- is this anxiety or could it be a medication side effect?

Hi.... by what you quote I feel that what your son is experiencing are panic attacks or it could be an anxiety related disorder or mood related disorder. I suggest you consult a psychologist regarding this. These symptoms are notrelated to the drugs which he is on in the appropriate dose and duration.
