I don't have cirrhosis, but my question involves leg bruising. i have been waking up with bruises on my legs... some huge, some small. i had them a few weeks ago and they went away. now they are comming back again. the only drugs that im on daily are microgestin (birth control) and advair. i also drink a little wine about 3 times a week...
if these bruises occur spontaneously and you don't have varicose veins or spider veins or any abnormal vessels in you leg, you have to visit your doctor to run a lab test to check your platelet count.
This is especially necessary if you also have bleeding gums with the bruises.
