One evening my daughter complained that her heart was racing. She just finished eating a cupcake and seemed fine. She seemed to want to lay down a lot, after mentioning her heart was racing. Fortunately my mother inlaw is a registered nurse and decided to check her heart rate. It was @ 145! She also checked her blood pressure and apparently that wasn't good either. I decided to call the nurse on call, and by the time she call the heart rate was going back down. According to my daughter she said early that day she was getting nervous about having to pee. But this time she couldn't calm down. So, the on call nurse told us to make an appt.. So as my daughter heart is calming down she feels like she needs to throw up, and her upper chest hurts ( right under her chin, part of the chest). So, we went to the dr. The next day and found that she had a UTI. The dr. said that it really didn't explain the heart racing though. Since then ( a week ago) she has not had a racing heart but she had continued to get the chest hurt and I would give her pepto bismol, that always took a while to work. I started changing her diet (to no fried foods and no sauces) thinking she could be getting indigestion or something. That was two days ago and has not had an episode since! What this be?
