I have been waking up to rapid heartbeat for awhile, but Tues I awoke to it but was so exhausted I stayed in bed until midnight (from Mon 1am). My eyes fluttered lk in REM sleep but I was awake. I did sleep off & on. I was hurting from back pain but nothing more than normal . I did get up for bathroom. It was more of an I don t feel lk getting up/too tired . Didn t eat but guzzled water that night & up from 12-4 am. Slept til 1:30 Wed. Ok today, concerned about high bp? Very vivid dreamer! Should I take enderol at night? Valium in case dreams r anxiety? TY!
The rapid heart rate during night with back pain indicate possible anxiety with muscle spasm. Though valium for anxiety and sleep maintenance as well as Inderal for heart rate control during such episode are helpful, those would be transient relief agents. Rather I would suggest that once you consult your primary care for basic work up and decide further course of action accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
