What Causes Rashes And Tingling Sensation All Over The Body?

Hello, I m 39 years old, female. Every month a day or two before my periods, I develop a hives-like rash all over my body. I notice it starts as a tingling sensation on my lips and fingers followed by fullness in stomach - usually diarrhea, white tongue, and mouth ulcers. This problem has been recurring for the past 3-4 months and the hives like rash have increased in intensity each time. On advise of a skin specialist taking Zempred 8 in the morning and Allegra 120 and Xyzal M in the evening. The medicines help with the symptoms but not the cause. Please help!

Hi,

Your symptoms can be related to Progesterone and simulate a condition that is Autoimmune Progesterone Urticaria.

It is due to rise in levels of Progesterone hormone and cause allergy-like symptoms in some individuals which commonly occurs 2-10 tens prior to the mensuration date.

So first of all consult a Gynaecologist or an Endocrinologist and get evaluated and investigation like Intradermal injection with Progesterone can be given to diagnose it.

For now, you can continue the medication that you are taking. Further treatment modalities include hormone replacement and a combination of steroid and anti-allergic for relief. So, first of all, getting an appropriate diagnosis is a must.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
