What Causes Rashes On Cheek With History Of Bell S Palsy?
I have been having continuous left sided headache for the past 5 days not relieved by any pain medication. My dr. suspected sinusitis and put me on pain medication and antibiotics. 2 days ago I developed Bells palsy( I have a past history of Bell s palsy 7 years ago) on the same side. Today I notice two small flat red rash on the left cheek approximately 1x1 cm and 2 x3 cm but no vesicles. Could this be herpes simplex or zoster? Am I contagious?
As per your query you have rashes on cheek with history of Bell s palsy . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like an allergic reaction , side effect , result of sensitivity to sunlight , eczema and seborrheic dermatitis . But in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are due to shingles or zoster or herpes zoster . Shingles is caused by the varicella zoster virus , the same virus that causes chickenpox. I would suggest you to consult doctor for proper evaluation . Doctor may prescribe antiviral drugs like acyclovir, valacyclovir, and famciclovi along with analgesic for pain . For now apply moisturizer on rashes .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
