What Causes Rectal Bleeding In Children?

hi, my 11 year old son has just come to me stating that he had blood oozing out of his poo . When I ve questioned him further he said that he has had a little blood staining on wiping for a little while now. He never gets constipated, and has a motion every day or every other day. He is more often than not quite loose. He has a healthy bmi and has no medical conditions/allergies other than suffering from occasional nose bleeds. I will take him to the gp tomorrow - but can you tell me what would be the most likely cause of rectal bleeding/blood stained stools.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi, since there is no fever, pain abdomen or loose stools it doesn't seem to have an infective cause. I think it could be because of fissure or polyp at anal rectal region. I think you should visit a Surgeon for rectal exam of child. I hope this has helped you. Wishing your child good health.
Take care.
