Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I feel very lightheaded at certain times of the day-not always. I am 73 and have never experienced this before the last 3 weeks. I had a physical last month and all was good-normal ekg normal blood pressure. the only medication I take is crestor 5mg I quit taking the Crestor after 2 days of this lightheadedness because it seemed to occur shortly after I had taken the medication. Symptoms have continued. no discomfort- just very lightheaded-like I might faint-I have never fainted in my life.
Dizziness and fainting at your age 76 year old could be due to cardiovascular issues. Immediate cardiac check up is recommended (ECG, echo cardiogram).
Blood electrolytes to measure to rule out dehydration.
For the moment, I advise you to: - monitor your blood pressure and sugar levels, record the results for future reference - keep well hydrated - avoid sharp movement of your head
Wish fast recovery.
