What Causes Recurrent Fever And Headache Despite Giving Nurofen To Child?
Hello my 6 year old has a temperature and is complaining of a headache. She also says her legs feel weak when she walks. She was off school yesterday and was sick twice. The school said there was a vomiting bug. She hasn t been sick again. She is now just very hot with a headache. I have been giving her nurofen. Thanks Fiona
Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of recurrent fever and headache despite giving Nurofen to child which is due to impaired and reduced immunity of child. Need not to worry about it. Give her paracetamol and along with that do tepid sponging in between depending on intensity of fever. Give child diet rich in multivitamins. Visit pediatrician to find out the cause of fever after thorough investigation. If required request your pediatrician for any lab tests which may be required and start treatment as per that. You can give Crocin as well every 4-6 hrly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
