Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Recurrent Fever At Specific Time In A Day?
My grandson recently had RSV and is doing much better. However, for the last three days he has gotten a fever between 2 and 3 o clock in the afternoon. No other symptoms. He will be six months tomorrow. He was seen by the Dr. yesterday and checked for flu, ears are clear, chest is almost totally clear, no strep, I am puzzeled about the temperature every day at a certain time.
Your doctor has seen and examined him in detail, finding no specific focus of infection- so you need not worry now if he is otherwise playful and feeding well. It may be a viral fever, which will subside in next 2-3 days. Only if not coming down by then, we can evaluate for other conditions like urinary infection or pharyngitis. Fever at a particular time of day can be caused by malaria also, but we suspect that only if you are staying in or had returned from a malaria endemic area.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK, Pediatrician
