What Causes Recurring Fever?

My father has an ESR of 118. He is getting recurrent fever of upto 100 F which goes away in 2-3 days on its own. he has alos got a skin rash (fungal infection) for which he is taking treatment. His haemoglobin has dropped to 11 and WBC is 12800. What can be the cause of the recurrent fever?
