What Causes Recurrent Fever Despite Taking Meftagesic And Relent?
Hi dr.. my kid is 3yrs old..suffering from high temp since 2 days. 102.. using meftagesic 8ml..fr evry 8 hrs..she also has cold n cough..using relent 3ml...temp is coming down fr 6 to 7 hrs and at time of giving medicine at 8th hr its again 101...pls suggest...she is 16 kgs... she also has chronic constipation problem since child hood..using smooth and moveout powder since year...is it safe to use smuth syrup.. thnks..
The smooth syrup is laxative stimulating the GIT for passage of stool and on long term usage it creates an issue of dependency and is strongly not encouraged at all. The recurrent fever has to be evaluated in terms of possible cause as bacterial or viral infection and the root cause management is needed rather than suppressing fever spikes with meftagesic syrup.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
