Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Sir My son got fever frequently due to infection. Frequent means three to four times in year. Now I am afraid because he was suffered from a feet at the age of one and half year due to fever and loose motion. Is there any permanent solution for fever or increase his immunity. His age is now 5 years 10 months. 0000 Hopefully answer awaited... Regards...
Having fever 3-4 times each year is not a big deal for a child of his age. Most children of the same age have more than 10 infections each year (not always with fever though).
They get the infections at school because of the overcrowding and the unawareness of the children that an infection is possible if they come into contact with diseased individuals.
His immune system is probably fine. Sometimes a genetically defective immune system may predispose to many respiratory tract infections but this is something that your primary care physician should assess and perhaps order tests for.
You can't give him something to increase his immunity. There is no drug for that.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr Panagiotis Zografakis, Internal Medicine Specialist
