What Causes Recurrent Navel Pain Inspite Of Taking Advil?

Hello,I hope someone can give me a better orientation, i went to Emergency center about 2 weeks ago, because i was having a lot of belly button pain, once i was there, they took a urine test and everything was fine, then they did a CT scan and they said the pancreas looks like it has an inflammation, so they did a lab test - blood test, they said that everything looked fine on the blood test, but because they are in an emergency center, they don t have anything else they can do for me, so they said that it was better if i go to a Hospital so i can get a better check, i said no and went home. For the next 2 days after that i had pain but i took advil for that pain, after that i did not have any more pain, but i being having diarrhea for the last 2 weeks, i bought some over the counter diarrhea pills and they did nothing so i decided to not take that any more, now i am having again the belly button pain, i have diarrhea and i really have a lot of pain in my kidney both kidneys and i have no appetite , i have an appointment with a Gastroenterologist in 5 days but i would like to know what can i take for this pain or what should i do.Any opinion i really appreciate because it can have a better idea if i should just wait for that appointment or go to the Hospital. Thanks

Hi,

If CT scan shows pancreatic inflammation, then it is pancreatitis, which can be confirmed by blood tests - serum amylase and lipase. If it is confirmed then you need to be admitted and kept nil by mouth till pain reduces. History of alcohol intake favors the diagnosis. Appendcitis may also be a possibility which may require removal of the appendix.

It may be related to diseases of the intestines like tuberculosis, inflammatory bowel disease, which will need tests like colonoscopy where endoscope will be passed through the anal canal to check the intestines. This condition is treated with medications. You may take buscopan for pain. Take soft diet like rice, yogurt, fruit juices, avoid spicy, oily and heavy meals.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
