What Causes Recurrent Seizures Post Zeptol CR Withdrawal?

Hlo i had first seizure in november 2013 and my dr.advice me for ct scan but the report of ct scan was normal.then he prescribe zeptol cr 200 and i m taking these from last 2 years .in these 2 years i leave taking medicine and after 2 days of leaving medicine seizure came again only for 15 seconds then i meat my dr. He asking me for eeg and the report of eeg also normal and dr. Asked me i should not leave my medicine.now i m contune taking zeptol cr 200 and valprid cr 500 .pls advice me is it can prevent seizur

Hi,

First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, you are suffering from epilepsy and that's why you were advised zeptol and CT may be normal in epilepsy.

So don't leave your drug unless advised because whenever you will leave the medicine seizure will come back.

Once you are seizure free on medicine for at least 1 year then your dose would be reduced and withdrawal would be gradual.
