Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had tinitis for a number of years and have had instances when my ears would get blocked up (fullness) for no apparent reason and eventually clear up by themselves. Recently my ears have been blocked up to varying extents on a daily basis and have never totally unblocked themselves. What might be causing this and what can I do to clear this up? --Allan Holtzman
As per your query you have the problem of recurrent tinnitus and ear blockage which is sometimes due to inflammation within the inner ear, meniere's disease and could be due to Eustachian tube dysfunction.
You should not touch or prick ears with any sharp object as it can lead to perforation. Maintain hygiene of the ear canal. I would suggest you consult ENT specialist for proper evaluation of the condition and go for CT scan, audiometry test, and complete examination with an otoscope. The doctor may also recommend vestibular therapy. Till then avoid excessive use of mobile and take the proper course of antibiotics to subside infection.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
