I am 39 years old. Have been experiencing recurring bartholin cysts. The past few months they are recurring more frequently. I ve had a couple drained by a physician. Recently I have been applying pressure to the area and draining what I can myself. The results are a yellow discharge and some blood. The smell is foul. Am experiencing cramping and a burning sensation. I am concerned.
hi. thanks for posting on hcm there are some glands down called bartholin glands, when there is any obstruction to the drainage of secretions by these glands cysts are formed we call bartholin cyst, these get infected and cause pain and foul smell and sometimes may form an abscess, this is a very common condition and recurs very frequently, i would recommend you to get a procedure called marsupialisation to be done, in this the sac will be opened and sutured to sides so that it remains open and does'nt cause any accumualtion. hope this is helpful to you. regards
