What Causes Recurring Diarrhea With Nausea And Fatigue?

I m asking for my fiancé . He is 51 years old. High blood pressure. High cholesterol. Recurring intestinal issues; usually resulting in diarrhea. He feels nauseous very often, always fatigued and has gained weight. His most odd symptom is what he describes as the feeling of peanut butter running through the veins in his arms and legs. He rarely has a day when he feels well.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted the history about a 51 year old male having diarrhea off and on,
nausea, weird feeling of peanut butter running into veins, high blood pressure and cholesterol.
The recurrent diarrhea should be well investigated for as following:
Stool tests for 3 consecutive days.
Tests of blood for CBC, thyroid functions, liver and kidney functions and any other tests as would be advised by a Gastroenterologist.
Colonoscopy and upper GI Endoscopy as he is suffering from nausea also.
CT scan of abdomen.
If all these things are normal then this may be IBS also a cause of hypertension and so on.
Also to know whether any particular foods or beverages is instigating or enhancing his problems.
Cardiac check up and to keep blood pressure in normal range.
Reduce the common salt in food.
Consult a Psychiatrist if required for counselling and medications as the feeling of peanut butter running though the veins is typically psychological problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
