What Causes Recurring Dizziness In Spite Of Lowering Dosage Of BP Medicines?

I WAS ON HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE MEDICATION AND I WAS GETTING VERY DIZZY WHEN I GOT UP FROM A CHAIR.THE DOCTOR LOWER IT TO 25 FROM 50 ,AND I STILL GOT DIZZY.I QUIT TAKING THE MEDICATION,AND THE DIZZINESS STOPPED.WHAT SHOULD I DO? I CHECK MY PRESSURE FROM TIME TO TIME,AND IT S AROUND 138 OVER 68 .I M 59 YEARS OLD..

Hello,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
It is very common for patients to complain of dizzinessafter starting of anti HTN medications. It usually takes time around 1 or 2 weeks for the body to get used to the medication.
What you are experiencing is called as postural hypotension.
It will be advisable to start the medication at very low dose and to titre it slowly upwards to the desired dosage as your doctor wants.
By this method your body gets accustomed to the medication and you won't have the symptoms of dizziness then.
