What Causes Recurring Dizziness Post Treatment For Epilepsy?

my daughter,14 yrs old had h/o epilepsy, took valparin chrono for 5years and then we stopped as she had no episode for 5 years, now she is complaining of spinning sensation in head which lasts for 5 to 10 sec. she feels she may fall, what could be the reason

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. She has taken Valproate for about 5 years and then her treatment was stopped. She has been seizure free since last 5 years and now she is showing spinning like sensation lasting for 5-10 seconds. These symptoms could be occurring due to some minor or mild seizure activity in brain and need evaluation. I would advise you to please visit her doctor again and ask for re-evaluation. EEG can help to find out any abnormal electrical activity in brain and her subclinical seizures can be found. Please consult her doctor if these symptoms persist.
