What Causes Recurring Ear Infections?

I m a 31 year old white male and get a very painful ear I fiction every year. As soon as it goes away in one ear I get one in the other ear. Ear swells shut so tight I can t get drops in it. Lately I ve been getting frequent very painful ear infections that go away after I m don t with the cycle of medication but come back within a week

i appreciate your concern.
you are probably having otitis externa frequently.this is the infection of the external ear canal.does not involve the middle ear.
symptoms are swelling of ear canal,decrease hearing .severe pain etc.
this is more common in diabetics and other immunocompromised patients.
i shall advise you to maintain proper hygine of the external ear canal.
do a fasting and post parendial blood glucose test.
consult an ENT surgeon too.
