What Causes Recurring Fainting Spells In An Elderly Person?

If a lady age 72. relatively healthy keeps in shape, walking dogs eats properly. She found herself in the Bathroom. She had passed out. Then later same day, March 14, also fainted//passed out to find herself by Bed. Went to Doctor had a EKG done and was told it was good, that Doctor said he wanted to have Sonogram done and that will be on April 04,2016. I would think she should have an MRI done on Brain. What do you recommend?
