What Causes Recurring Headaches Inspite Of Taking Ibuprofen?

I ve had a terrible headache for one entire week. It s primarily on the right side of my head from about the crown of my head to my cheek. I wake up with it, take Ibuprofen and it subsides. However, once I get home from work, the headache returns and I have to take more ibuprofen. If I don t take the meds, I will not be able to sleep due to the pain.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Headache on side from neck to the crown indicates the cervical spondylitis, or nerve pinching on right side of neck causing typical headache. Since the ache is managed by Ibuprofen, you are comfortable so continue.

But it is important to consult a doctor for clinical examination and any investigations needed. Use some muscle relaxant liniment on the neck to release spasm of the muscles. Adjust your neck posture during the day and while sleeping. Further management will be as per the cause found.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
