What Causes Recurring High Fever Along With Blocked Nose In A Toddler?

2yr old fevers over 103 on an off for 3 months, blood work normal except wbc 13.2. Difficulty breathing thru nose but no drainage, xray shows bronchitis twice but no coughing an normal lung sounds. Recent fevers lasting 4 days an up to 105.1, No rash, white patches in throat with negat strep ??. First fever at end of november showed pneumonia but had the coughing etc at that time. Concerned with high fevers ocurring so often, approx 6 times lasting 4-5 days each time in past 3 months an keeps visually swollen turbinates

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of recurring high fever along with blocked nose which is due to viral pharyngitis or upper respiratory tract infection. Need not to worry it could be mainly due to increased susceptibility of your body to get infected due to poor immunity. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start vitamin C tablet for 10 days. Keep sipping warm water. Drink hot milk along with pinch of turmeric. You should avoid cold carbonated beverages and intake of outside food. Visit pediatrician once and get it examined if symptoms keeps on persisting. You should get blood tests done and start treatment once proper diagnosis is ruled out. You should give combination of Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen. You should give steam inhalation along with vaporizer.
