Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 41, have a semi stressful job and a 4 year old. I have ulcers in my mouth often, sometimes up to 8 at a time. They last 6-10 days and heal on their own. Last week I had 5 in my mouth and then I got one on my perineum and it looks exactly like the ones in my mouth but larger. I have no idea what to do about it, my doctor says the sores are a result of stress and I should sleep more. This really affects the quality of my life. Any help with causes or treatments would be apprectiated.
I went through your details. Your doctor said that the ulcers are related to stress. It is true. Stress and anxiety triggers acidity and indigestion. Stress gives body signal to slow down the digestion process. Prolonged stress creates indigestion and therefore mouth ulcers. You should learn to relieve your stress and engage more in activities which are entertaining as well as tiring. Exercise is also good. Consult a psychologist for psychotherapy treatment.
