Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello. My husband is 67 years and he had a severe nosebleed this morning between 2:45 AM and 3:30AM. He was bleeding from both nostrils. It lasted for about 15 minutes. He was able to stop the nosebleed with the method that is recommended here. This happens once or twice a month.
Some of the more common causes are(1) abnormal blood vessels in the nose (2)infection (3)allergies causing dryness (4)trauma (5)high blood pressure (6)use of medication to stop clotting such as warfarin
It would be best, since the bleeds are recurrent, to see an ENT specialist for assessment. He or she would be able to find the cause.
I hope this helps
