Hello and welcome to HCM,
Chest pain can occur due to disease process in heart, lungs, mediastinum, musculoskeletal system or
pleura.
As you have mentioned that cardiac investigations have come out to be normal, the cardiac abnormality is ruled out.
However, some more investigations are required to look for abnormality in other structures.
A X-ray chest is required to assess the lung fields and the bony
rib cage.
X-ray chest will also help in assessing the mediastinum for any abnormality or enlargement of
lymph node or any other structure.
As the pain is getting worse with eating some foods, an abnormality of the
esophagus can also cause similar symptoms.
Thus, if no abnormality is detected on X-ray chest, esophageal assessment will be required.
Management can be planned after clinical assessment, relevant investigations and diagnosis.
Thanks and take care
