Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Recurring Sharp Pain In The Upper Arm?
I am having a sharp stabbing pain on the inside of my left bicep. No certain movement causes it but it is certainly correlated to arm movement. It happens when my arm is at my side and not when the arm is extended. The pain is always in the same spot.
It is important performing a cervical spine X ray study in order to investigate on a possible bulging disk in the vertebral column, which may lead to radicular nerve pain in the biceps muscle. In the meantime, I would recommend performing light stretching exercises.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
