What Causes Red And Itchy Bumps All Over The Body?

Hello, I have these red itchy bumps, almost like bites on my body. It started off near my knee but are now spreading randomly. I went to a doctor who quickly just stated it was from midges, as I have been recently in an environment likely of midges/fire ants. But i find it weird that they are appearing all over at random times. What could it be? They swell up and becomes increasingly itchy when I scratch them so I have been avoiding doing that. I am concerned they could be scabies however my partner has not obtained them from me yet? In any case, the symptoms are not getting better after 4-5 days of having them. Thanks for you help. Cheers.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As first-line management, you can try drugs like Cetirizine or pheniramine for symptomatic relief. If lesion persists you can consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
