What Causes Reddish Clumps And Cramps Before A Week Of Menstruation?
I ve been cramping bloated and having lots of brown discharge along with light stringy red blood. This has been going on for 5 days now. Yesterday it was lotion like clumpy reddish brown and today after I went to the bathroom I wiped light pinkish. My period isn t due in 4 days, is this normal?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Menstrual cycle can be preceded by a set of symptoms called pre-menstrual syndrome. Pre-menstrual syndrome is a set of symptoms- cramping, lower abdominal pain, bloating, breast tenderness, brownish discharge etc. The pre-menstrual syndrome varies in intensity from person to person. If the symptoms are very troublesome, you can take treatment for it. The treatment is mainly symptomatic aimed to relieve the cramps and bloating. I suggest you to consult your gynaecologist for clinical assessment and thus management.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
