Hi, For two weeks now I have developed reddish spots on the corner of my mouth, and slightly above my lip and near my chin. It does not itch, hurt nor has it blistered. Ive used hydrocortisone cream and has helped somewhat but is still present. What could it be?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of reddish spots in the mouth and slightly above lip and near chin which is mainly due to Recurrent Aphthous stomatitis which could be due to nutritional deficiencies, stress, immune dysfunction or due to hormonal imbalances. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to maintain proper oral hygiene by brushing and flossing twice daily. Avoid hot, sharp and spicy foods. condition still persist then consult dentist /oral pathologist for proper examination and treatment . Doctor may prescribe anti inflammatory medications for 10-15 days and your symptoms will resolve. Take probiotic food/drink like yogurt in your diet. Do Listerine mouthwash rinses once a day. Apply dologel and mucopain on these spots. Drink warm water sip by sip to have better relief.
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
