Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Right-sided Abdominal Pain, Constipation And Gall Stones?
I have been having pain in the right side of my abdomen (just to the left of my right hip bone) since last December. The first diagnosis (after a scan) was that I was constipated and then the second diagnosis was that I had gall stones. So I had my gall bladder removed back in April, but the pain in my right side persisted.I have since had an abdominal scan (which turned up nothing) plus blood tests. Now I am waiting to have a bone scan of my right hip area, meanwhile the pain is still there and is slowly getting more severe.Do you have any advice or suggestions that your think might help? You should do further evaluation doing an urine analysis and an abdominal ultrasound. Kidney stones or urinary tract infection are also possible. Also, chronic apendicitis may be a cause of your symptoms. Please follow with further testing.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
