Hello,

Pain from lower back in right side radiating to leg is caused due to the herniated disc pressing on the nerve roots especially the sciatic nerve. The following are treatment options:
1) Pain relief by taking NSAIDs like Ibuprofen and Aceclofenac along with muscle relaxant like chlorzoxazone daily twice for a week
2) You can't take NSAIDs when suffering from gastritis, peptic ulcer, heart failure. In such cases you can go for opioids like Hydrocodone, Oxycodone and Tramadol
3) Bed rest
4) Epidural injection of corticosteroids and a local anesthetic into the facet joints is very helpful in reducing the pain
5) Physical therapy to strengthen the back muscles
6) Along with the above, neuromodulators of pain like pregabalin 75 mg to be used daily at night for 1 month

If all the above mentioned measures fail, then surgical correction may be thought of.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
