What Causes Right Upper Abdominal Pain That Radiates Into The Back?

I ve had right upper side abdominal pain that radiates to my back for 3 days. It s a dull ache that can begin to feel very sore like I ve had surgery... But I have not had surgery. I have no pain sitting in a recliner or reclining in bed unless I try to rest on my right side. The pain began 2 days after going on the large teacup ride at an amusement park. I m 60 yrs. old. Do you think it s muscular pain or is it unrelated to the ride? My appetite is normal and Motrin and or Tylenol does not really ease the pain significantly.

Hello,

I suggest you to visit your doctor as soon as possible to get tested for other things except for muscular pains. It could be due to inflamed pancreas, gall bladder or peptic ulcer as well. Some of the heart problems can also present this way. It's better to get tested first for all these problems and treat accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
