What Causes Rise In BP Levels With History Of Having Epileptic Seizures?
HI, my name is Lorena.I have a friend in the hospital, in ICU. She just delivered her son by c section 4 days ago.She has very elevated blood pressure 200+/120 she also has a history of epileptic seizures blood pressure won t go down. doctors don t know what may be causing the elevated BP any ideas as to what is causing this condition BTW she is in a Mexico city.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Elevated blood pressure along with albuminuria and seizures in pregnancy is called 'eclampsia'. After delivery, the blood pressure should come back to normal. However, if it is high persistently, the cause needs to be evaluated and treated accordingly. In any case, it needs to be controlled with antihypertensive drugs. Once the primary cause is known, it needs to be treated accordingly. Kindly consult Physician in this regard for proper evaluation and management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
