Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been experiencing fast heart beat and my blood pressure becomes low 96 over 76 and my heart rate beats over 100 beats I know this for I have a blood pressure machine What is causing this? I am also am experiencing fast heart rate on and off all day long
When you are dehydrated you can have a fast heart rate and low blood pressure. This is the most common cause for such a presentation. 96/76 is not too low a blood pressure, but if the heart rate goes above 100 we have to rule out some causes like: a) Hyperthyroidism b) Anemia c)Diabetes d) High stress level e)High caffeine use f) Structural heart diseases You should get a thyroid profile and complete blood count done in the first place. Then you should get a EKG done to rule out any conduction defects. You should reduce your caffeine use and reduce the stress level.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
