What Causes Rise In The BP Level After Having A Leg Fracture?

My mom s blood pressure is 220/180 , this came into focus when she had a leg fracture and we had to implant a plate on her leg Orthopaedic doc told that her fracture is fine now but she might have some netball issues so advised to go to a neurologist .On going there they are giving multiple test to study her neurology .Are we in the right track ?Or there might be some other reasons too ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you are on the right track. Doing the right thing. But what worries me is her blood pressure to spike. I think you should monitor her bp, record the results for reference. She might need to take antihypertensive meds after consulting with the cardiologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
