General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
Scanty periods is when duration of menses is less than 2 days.Variation between 3-7 days is normal.
variation may be caused by stress, physical exertion or inadequate diet.
Other possibilties may be change in hormonal balance, thyroid disorder, polycystic ovary syndrome.
However, still to be on safer side,
you may visit gynaecologist.
-Investigations like blood haemoglobin, thyroid test, blood hormonal levels of FSH,USG pelvis will be advised.
Further treatment depends upon diagnosis.
-Have a balanced diet.
-Keep weight within control but dont overexert.
-Regular yoga for destressing yourself.
Thanks.
