My optometrist advised a couple of days ago that I have Posterior Vitreous Detachment as I have been experiencing flashes at night time. He advised to monitor it over the next couple of weeks but to go back in if I start seeing black spots. I have just this morning started seeing black spots and I will go back to the Optometrist but I am curious as to what else might be causes this. I am under a lot of stress but I am more curious about if I am consuming something, such as zero coke that might be causing this?
This is a age related change in the gel inside the eye and has nothing to do with the diet. You need to consult retina specialist if there is sudden increase in number and size of the dark spots or flashes associated with curtain like shadows
