What Causes Seizures, Severe Headaches And Blurred Vision In A Child?
Hello Doctor... My son aged 13 now, was having seizures from 3 years but I happened when he got fever and he had 3 or 4 instances so far. But two years before, he got seizure with severe head ache and vision was blurred by the time. He had another one within a month time. After 3 months, he had another one and the symptoms remain same. The common fact in these instances is that he was in empty stomach / took late food. Since then he has been consuming Valuation 300 MG twice day ( morning &nights). He didn t have further problem. However, he is having jerks during sleep/ early morning. Is there any problem? Need your advice. Thanks. Hariharan. K
There are many causes of seizures in a child. It can happen due to congenital causes. Most children have a transient seizure due to fever. Some children can get seizures due to infections, tumors, blood clots or infarcts in the brain. If your son has completely recovered from the seizures then the cause is likely benign. Please get a MRI brain scan done and discuss if an EEG is needed with his doctors.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vivek Chail, Radiologist
