Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve been having so pain in my left arm. started by the shoulder some months ago. Thought it would work itself out. Im 53yr old female. Not in great health. Overweight. The pain in my arm is slowly making it hard for me to say pull my shirt off over my head . I feel some mobility is being affected. I m a little scared of what this could be. Do I go to a Rheumatologist? I m thinking it s some type of arthritis or something. Please tell me it s not something life threatening? - feeling a little scared
Your symptoms seem to be related to a pinched nerve in the shoulder. An X-ray of the shoulder should be done to exclude other possible causes such as arthritis.
Meanwhile, I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms. I also suggest dousing cold compresses for local applications.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
