Hello and welcome to HCM,
Pain in umbilical area after insertion of catheter in a 76 year old diabetic can be due to urinary tract infection (UTI).
Diabetics are more prone to develop infection and chances are more if catheter is in situ for more than 48 hours.
Thus, if the catheter is in situ for more than 48 hours, then please get it changed.
A urine routine microscopy and culture should be done to look for any evidence of infection.
The sweating in the absence of fever is unlikely to be due to UTI.
However, this can be due to ketoacidosis, a complication which can occur in diabetics.
Please consult your physician for clinical assessment and further management.

Thanks and take care
