Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
Sudden awakening at 2:30 am from sleep with
severe pain in abdomen, nausea, dizziness and
profuse sweating indicates intestinal infection.
The symptoms indicate septicemia hence the sweating and other symptoms.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Consult your Doctor for clinical evaluation and examination.
Tests of stool and blood.
Get a course of an antibiotic,
metronidazole and symptomatic treatment with a PPI like
Omeprazole, probiotics,
Domperidone and Omeprazole along with anti-spasmodic.
Intravenous fluids if the condition still persists along with antibiotics.
One the nausea and vomiting stops you can continue the course orally.
Take plenty of oral fluids and electrolyte solutions.
Since there is an old history of Barrett's, undergo upper GI Endoscopy and biopsy and continue the treatment as per the findings as this is usually not reversible and can cause cancer.
