What Causes Severe Body Chills And Lung Congestion?
I had sudden SEVERE CHILLS two night ago. Watching TV and started getting cold, then started with SEVERE CHILLS that lasted for about 3 hrs. I shook so hard I thought my teeth were going to break. Husband got me in bed with blankets, etc Blood pressure went very high also. Never had before. What could cause this? Will it occur again, and what examinations should I seek to determine cause. I have severe arthritis and severe disc degeneration . I also lost leg functions function about an hour 2 mos. ago. This occurred early in morning when I tried to get out of bed. Are these two episodes related ? These were two very scary times for me. I have been having some lung congestion and finished antibiotics a week ago. I do also have asthma and use inhaler twice a day. All of my recent blood results were very good.
It is most probably related to the lung congestion you described. Since your blood results were recently good after treating your lung issue with antibiotics I think you don't need to worry anymore. If, however, you notice chills or fever please refer to your pneumologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ahmad Nazzal, General & Family Physician
