What Causes Severe Elbow Pain Upon Bending The Hand?

Hi I can t bend my arm straight without my elbow feeling like it s going to break. It does not hurt any other time except when I try to straighten it. I have had no previous injury it just came about out of no where. I do not play any sort of sports either.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe elbow pain upon bending the hand. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like tendinitis , carpal tunnel and tennis elbow , nerve compression or heart problem like angina . It can also occur due to side effects of certain medicine . I would suggest you to consult cardiologist to rule out more serious condition . Doctor may order ECG , TMT , complete blood profile along with troponin t test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe isosorbide nitrate , aspirin , sedative along with beta blockers . Doctor may also refer you to orthopedic surgeon in case of bone muscle problem like cervical spondylosis . For now stay calm , take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain and take proper rest. Doctor may also refer you to neurologist for nerve problem .
