What Causes Severe Fatigue After A Knee Revision Surgery?

I just had knee revision surgery six weeks ago and I am excessively tired and have a lot of involuntary restless muscle jumpiness. I do suffer from severe sleep apnea and am awaiting a machine after being off one for 6 months due to a cross country move. Could this have an effect on my excessive muscle restlessness? It literally recents me from sleeping more than 2to 3 hours a night.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, lethargy and day time somnolence etc are part of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. Meanwhile, arterial blood gases to rule out carbon dioxide excess and if needed, hospital admission is recommended temporarily till you get your personal CPAP machine.

Thyroid profile and sugar levels may be needed. Supplements for calcium D3 B12 and folic acid may also be used.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Regards,
