What Causes Severe Fatigue In The Night And Early Morning?

Hello...I think I may have the flu but something much more serious. I lose control of my muscle mass--I cannot stand, walk or even crawl. I cannot push myself up with my arms. It s like there is nothing there. It seems to happen mostly at night and early morning when I rise.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You are having weakness problem as you need to do an extra effort for muscle movement. The causes can be an electrolyte imbalance, muscle dystrophy or inflammation, connective tissue problem, neuropathy, liver problem, or kidney disease etcetera.

For primary workup SGPT, SGOT, urea, creatinine, calcium, sodium level, serum TSH etcetera can be checked. If needed, an EMG and NCV like further investigation planned. Also, consult the physician for examination, and if needed, he will refer you to the neurologist for EMG.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
