Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a stroke 5 years ago along with being diagnosed with AML and I now take 325 MG of aspirin to help keep.my blood thin. However I ve been taking 500 MG aspirin for a couple weeks as I ran out and I had the 500 MG tablets. I ve really been feeling tired and low energy the last few days. Could it be the higher dose aspirin or could I be coming out of remission from my AML?
Thanks for your question on Ask a doctor forum. I can understand your concern. No, 500 mg of aspirin can not cause fatigue. Yes, possibility of flare up of AML (acute myeloid leukemia) is more likely. Fatigue is the earliest symptom for AML flare up. So you should definitely consult your oncologist and get it checked. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
