Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been on atorvastatin 20 mg since 2014 and the past 2 months feeling very tired, 1 month ago was diagnosed with breast cancer, and yesterday my gastro doctor is monitoring fatty liver disease due to blood work and liver ultrasound, could the cholesterol medicine be a factor l
Atorvastatin may indeed cause fatigue but it's not supposed to do so very frequently. Actually less than 1% of patients taking atorvastatin may be affected. If your symptoms occurred after starting atorvastatin then this could be an explanation. Otherwise you should look elsewhere for the cause.
Breast cancer - if active - sounds like a more likely cause for example. A check-up may help to identify other potential factors that may cause tiredness, including anemia, electrolyte disorders, impaired renal indices, etc.
