What Causes Severe Fatigue While On Prednisone, Metoprolol, Losartan And Spironolactone?

My mother is taking several meds and is quite tired. She wants to know if any of these would be causing such fatique,: Promacta 50 mg, Prednisone 5 mg. Metoprolol 50 mg (2x a day) Losartan 100 mg Spironolactone 25 mg Raloxifine 60 mg. She feels loopy and tired and can t function . Frustating as she has been very active 85 years old and recently lost her husband and had a serious fall last August resulting in hospitalization.

Hi,

Go for her serum electrolytes, BUN and serum creatinine. Weakness can be due to electrolyte disturbances. Prednisone on long-term can cause hypokalemia. Losartan and Spironolactone can contribute to hyperkaelmia. Metoprolol can also cause fatigue and lethargy.
